Noise Reduction for Pianos
Noise Reduction for Pianos
Piattino Caster Cups will not reduce the sound of the piano in the room noticeably. The idea is to insert an acoustic break between the piano and the building structure. This will cut down the direct vibration going into adjoining rooms, especially rooms below.
With its clever design, Piattino Caster Cups inserts insulation between the piano and the floor, while only raising the piano minimally. The design allows for almost 1-1/2″ of acoustic insulating material to be inserted between the legs of a piano and the floor. By means suspending a cup into the center of a ring of this material, the piano is actually only lifted 3/8″ off the floor. This is important to maintain the correct height of the keys and the pedals from the floor. The Piattino Caster Cups are designed to lift the piano as minimally as possible. The cup is 1-1/8″ deep, while the piano is only lifted 3/8”.
